If you’re not using github and have instead been given access to a git repository server that isn’t set up with WebDAV you’ll need to set up Eclipse to run with SSH key pairs.  The process is fairly straightforward.  Open the preferences dialogue by going to “Window” > “Preferences” and you’ll get the following dialogue window:
SSH-Eclipse-Setup1

Go to “Network Connections” > “SSH2” and select the “Key Management” tab:

SSH-Eclipse-Setup2

When you select “Generate DSA|RSA Key” you’ll get the information presented to you.  You can cut an paste the info into the authorized keys file in the .ssh directory of your user folder on Linux if you have access to the server, but the easiest is to simply use the “Export Via SFTP” button as that will take care of the issue for you.
